Mikasa Japanese Bistro in Latdrop

Great little spot in Lathrop. Lunch items are filling, and wait staff is attentive. Sushi is good and presented well.

I always enjoy eating here. Their products are fresh and the quality of the ingredients is like no other sushi place. Tip. If you are going with 3 or more people I would call ahead of time, this place can get very full at times and I've noticed that they have trouble accommodating people sometimes. Nevertheless, the food is delicious and I will continue to be a returning customer for years to come.

Delicious, great value, wish this was MY neighborhood sushi place.

Our server was friendly, so good experience overall. Food was not brought to us at the same time though. Sushi was good, seemed fresh. Didn't have to wait long to get a table.

Best place for sushi!! Staff is great and helpful when you in the mood to try something new! Come here very often never had a bad experience.

Not a fan of this location. The waitress kept rushing us and was so focused on getting us out she kept bringing the wrong drinks and then taking away drinks from our table that she shouldnt have(like our waters) thinking they were Sprite, maybe-I dont know. My kids and I found it funny but in hindsight, the service was terrible, rushed, unhelpful and unfriendly. We ordered a roll we always get but it was made completely different so we had a ton of leftovers. Good to be with family but not a happy memory due to poor customer service.

Ever since this restaurant opened, my family and I have made this our number 1 sushi spot, and it seems like it's the same for everyone else in the area. The waits are never short if you go on the weekends, but the food is extremely worth it. Whether you're getting sushi, teriyaki bowls, or anything else they have, this is definitely one of the best places to grab Japanese food!

Food was great. Place was over crowded they sat as at a corner table where my chair was halfway in the hallway ..

Busy but still pretty good service. Nice atmosphere, and servers willing to do custom changes like more or less cooked. No coffee, only tea. Small TV. Make sure to look at the specials board, they don't push the specials at the table. All around good lunch experience.

Foods great. Enjoy coming here it's my fav sushi spot. Pictured are 2 of my favs we always order these with a 3rd roll. The DCS on the left and middle is the Godzilla roll. Cant go wrong with those.

I had lunch at Mikasa in Lathrop with my family and friends. The food was delicious, everything fresh and beautifully served. Very nice and friendly employees 😋❤️

Mikasa is great. Only thing I wish is that the restaurant was bigger, as it gets packed on weekends for dinner. Great Sushi.

Good service and food was ok. Was a bit pricey though. I've never paid more than 5 dollars for a Philadelphia roll so that was a bit of a shocker.

Took 2 friends here the other day and they loved it. Employees made sure we got what we ordered. I ordered them a couple of my favorite rolls. The sweet lover, San Francisco, Honey walnut roll and Volcano. They were fans immediately and all the food was eaten. They even mentioned wanting to come back and eat again soon! This place always seems to be busy so make reservations if you have to!

Not a good experience at all. Sushi over priced for size and quality of rolls. Rice was kinda hard and the seaweed you couldn't bite through so all roll would fall apart when trying to eat. Will never go there again. Very disappointed I spent my hard earned money there.

What a fantastic place to go. We are out of town and wanted grab some sushi with friends, we giggled and found so many options. But after all decided to come here and it was absolutely Bingo. Food was absolutely delicious and portions are Huge . Prices very well priced . Service was wonderful and atmosphere was delightful. It a place if we lived here will be our to come back for sure ! So go enjoy! Lots to choose from and everything taste very fresh . Cheers to good place !

This is our go to place for awesome sushi. We go monthly. Always great good and great service. Except today, food and service was below average. If this is the new normal we will have to find another place to go.

Great food. Can get real busy at lunch time. Recommend calling ahead to preorder and reserve a table if on a lunch break.

Wow!!!! Can't believe how delicious this is. Normally I avoid any sushi 100 miles from the ocean. But gotta say Mikasa is top 3 on my list of sushi restaurant.

It took over 45 minutes from the time we ordered to get our food. The restaurant wasn't full, but it is full of babies. 6 babies in here on a Friday night, all screaming for no reason, and one was eating food over the booth dropping food in my hair.The food, not so great. They are ALL California rolls with crab and avocado in the middle, and some other random fish on top. We ordered 4 different rolls and they all were the same Cali fornia roll interior with different fish on top. Very underwhelming. How did this take +45 minutes?They were playing Christmas music which was drowned out by the screaming babies and constantly ringing phone. Combine this with slow +45minute service, overpriced "sushi" and poor ingredients, this is not the same place it used to be 5 years ago.We also announced a birthday and they didn't do anything.That night one of us got very sick.We're not coming back.

Service isn't too good, checking on you/your drinks, but other than that...this place is AMAZING! Best sushi I've ever had. Prices good and they offer other food items besides just sushi.

Really like the authentic feel of this small Japanese place. We got the sushi, but there are other items on the menu. I thought the food was absolutely delicious. We order in less than 2 mins of sitting down and got our food in less than 5 mins even though the place was a little crowded. Kudos to the wait staff for that. They kept checking up on us as they walked around. Not nosy or anything. Just keeping sure that we were attended to. We sat at the bar so we were able to see the chefs making the rolls. The place was clean and the people were happy as far as I could tell. I would recommend this place for a quick bite to eat cause you won't be in here long as the food is delivered quick and the staff is prompt. All in all, took about 45 mins from door to door.

We've followed Harry and Susan since their Shogun days! Their expertise and hospitality in owning and managing multiple restaurants are award winning. Always the Best in San Joaquin Magazine as well as The Record. Keep up the good work you guys!

Mediocre sushi. Not terrible but nothing great either.

Due to the situation we are facing right now we are trying to support local businesses... we called before placing an order to make sure we were ordering from the right menu because it seemed like it was modified. The person we talked to over the phone confirmed that their menu was limited. When we picked up our order the amount charged did not match the price they have online. My husband showed them the prices online and they rudely said the online prices have not been updated. The owner did not seem apologetic at all. We are extremely disappointed with the service.

Very nice environment, kind servers. We had teriyaki salmon and teriyaki chicken it's was very delicious

Very friendly service. A little dark, but a nice atmosphere. Very good sushi at reasonable rates. The Teriyaki Chicken was juicy and tender and the fried rice was not oily or greasy. I am no sushi pro and I don't know any of the names, but all the sushi I had was fresh tasting to me. Will definitely come here again when I visit Lathrop in the future.

Sat at the sushi bar never got service. Then the waiter was going into the kitchen and sneezes everywhere wipes his face with a towel and puts it on the counter and touches people's food. We left with out ordering a single thing. The service was very bad to begin with. So disappointed.

Excellent menu! They have 2 locations one in Tracy Ca and Lathrop Ca. Small atmosphere so it does get a bit crowded. Service is ok depending who you get as a waiter. Don't expect kindness from them, but Sushi is definitely worth going!

Chong is amazing...a sushi artist! He makes the most amazing special rolls and the tuna ceviche is sooo good!! This place is a must for sushi

There is so much to say about this place, so ill start off with the basics.The place is wonderful once you know the menu, While I agree there are a few things that are just okay, The real 5 stars comes from the amazing flavor and quality of the actual FISH, any sushi place can toss some cheap Save-mart fish on and call it sushi but Mikasa Sushi does it right and fresh.Secondly, Mikasa sushi has some real culture and a great environment for the whole family. They welcome all and don't pick favorites. Get in at the right time because its busy busy busyLast but not least... try the Ben's Roll Deluxe... J.S. you're welcome(Warning the Ben's Roll Deluxe is like $40 but is enough to feed multiple people)

Love this place, twins two is my favorite roll but all the rolls are great. Service is good too
